Our Boston Celtics preview 2021 notes that last season this team was off its mark. Boston finish at 36-36 and ended up fourth in the Atlantic Division and seventh in the East. They made it through the play in round. However, in First Round, the Brooklyn Nets took Boston out four games to one. Since 2007, when they last won the NBA Championship, the Celtics have been in the postseason all but one time. That was during the 2013-14 season, when they went 25-57.

Celtics Frontcourt

The paint is sound and deep when it comes to power and small forwards. At small forward, Jayson Tatum is first rate. His biggest issue is dealing with double- and triple-teams. Tatum is an amazing scorer, while Jaylen Brown and Josh Richardson are both solid backups. Note, Tatum may end up in the power spot. If that’s the. case, Brown could start at small. Speaking of the power spot, Al Horford joins the team. He could play either power or center. However, our Boston Celtics preview 2021 finds that Robert Williams III, an excellent shooter, rebounder, and defender, offers premium play in the paint. The question is can he stay healthy?

Boston Celtics Preview – Backcourt

The Celtics will utilize Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroder in the guard spots. Either one can play either role. The backcourt is able and tight. Smart is a fine passer and shooter. Schroder, an eight-year vet who played 61 games with the Lakers last year, is also a shooting and assist machine. Versatile Brown and Richardson can fill in as can Payton Pritchard.
